2015 Soothsayer

The Soothsayer is a prophecy come to fruition. I have always viewed myself first and foremost as an Italian varietal and Cabernet Sauvignon producer, despite the fact that up until 2016 I had never released an Italian varietal wine. For years my friends have scoffed at my insistence, but now with Soothsayer I stake my claim.

Varietals:

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Barbera, 7% Nebbiolo

Vineyard:

23% Spanish Springs, 22% Chelle Mountain, 19% Pine Hawk, 17% Sorso, 12% Two Wolves, 7% Luna Matta

Appellations:

California

Cases Made:

279

Alcohol:

15.2% Alc by Vol.

TASTING NOTES: The large pink peppercorn tree appears in the distance, it’s branches canopying the driveway to the villa. It’s no use, the brakes have failed. After missing ancient olive and fig trees, rose bushes and the freesias, you crash right into the pepper tree. The scent of charred berries hangs in the air. Welcome home.
