These are the perennial releases of consistant vision and inspiration. Year in, year out, these are the wines that best capture the tenor of the cellar.
A winery is an intuitive laboratory. In moments of divergent wonder I will run experiments. Sometimes my curiosity is rewarded. On those occasions I will release wines under the in tiny amounts. These wines are the wild-eyed vanguard of things to come.
Every year there are those barrels or amphora that just sing with terroir. Up to now, they have only been seen by me and then blended into Fragment, which has always saddened me. I decided to release two wines that are unique in the clarity of their expression of terroir. Each is from a single site and was fermented and aged in a single vessel and bottled separately.
At it’s core Death & Ressurection is the gestalt of my cellar. This is the blend I look forward to making most each year. I pull from my favorite barrels regardless of their style, in the attempt to make a wine of singular character and expression.
This is my tête de cuvée.
